AIMS
is a voluntary organization of private, independent elementary and college preparatory schools in Maryland and the District of Columbia. All 112 member schools work together to improve education for their more than 43,000 students.
AIMS serves three important purposes: to provide a rich offering of annual professional development opportunities for teachers, administrators, and trustees; to accredit member schools; to lobby the state legislature on behalf of member interests and independence; to promote the vigorous exchange of views and experiences among the various professional constituencies within member schools; and to be the voice of independent education in the area.
