Located on New York City’s Upper East Side, Hewitt is an independent school serving girls in grades K through 12. The Hewitt School seeks an associate director of admissions for middle and upper school. The associate director of admissions performs an integral role within the Hewitt admissions office and must work well as a collaborative member of the admissions team. This is a position for a seasoned admissions professional. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. The associate director for middle and upper school will need to establish positive relationships with students, families, faculty, administrators, placement directors, and educational consultants. The candidate must have a strong work ethic and desire to learn, show strong time-management and organizational skills, demonstrate initiative, and be interested in collaborating with the admissions team.

Help oversee the process of admissions for grades 5-12 including interviewing families, attending school and community fairs, event planning, and outreach.
Help develop a strategic plan for middle and upper school admissions based in research on admissions and enrollment trends.
Manage middle and upper school open house events.
Be a strong advocate for Hewitt and for girls’ education.
Engage in research on girls and girls’ education and be able to speak knowledgeably about research on how girls learn best.
Review and evaluate applicant files and participate in the middle and upper school admissions committees.
Represent Hewitt at ISAAGNY meetings and other professional forums.
Engage with faculty, administration, students, and parents in order to share Hewitt’s stories.
Track progress of admitted students.
Participate in work that supports diversity and inclusivity.
Attend occasional weekend and evening events.
Perform any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Degree: BA
Certification Required: No
Minimum Experience: 3-5 Years


Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
5+ years working in admissions and enrollment management
Excellent interpersonal skills
