Georgetown Day School first opened its doors in 1945 as an integrated school in a segregated city. GDS is dedicated to providing a supportive educational atmosphere in which teachers challenge the intellectual, creative, and physical abilities of our students and foster strength of character and concern for others. Central to its educational philosophy is the belief that students and teachers do their best work when they bring their authentic selves to each and every experience. For that reason, the School believes firmly that diversity and excellence in education are inseparable.
Over the past seventy years, Georgetown Day School has grown from a school of seven students to a pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade school with more than 1,000 students and a faculty and staff of 200 on two separate five-acre campuses in Washington, DC. Our salaries and benefits package are highly competitive.
