Shore Country Day School
For 75 years, Shore has been the choice of parents seeking to inspire and prepare their children with a vigorous academic program. Thousands of successful alumni, hundreds of enthusiastic learners, and a robust plan for the future attest to the strength of our mission.
Through small classes, innovative teaching styles, and family partnerships, we create a stimulating learning experience that is just right for each child at each stage. Faculty encourage, challenge, and support children so they grow into critical thinkers with self-confidence, personal integrity, and a willingness to take responsibility for their actions.
The Shore community encourages children to find strength in diversity, appreciate differences of background and opinion, and recognize the necessity for mutual respect among all individuals. We pursue diversity in our student body, faculty, staff, administration, and trustees in order to provide an intellectually challenging climate, promote a healthy and vibrant community, and honor the potential of each member.

School Philosophy

Shore Country Day School provides a challenging educational program for children from Readiness through Grade Nine. We seek to create a stimulating learning experience for our students, recognizing the various developmental stages of children as they grow. Working in partnership with the family, Shore encourages academic, personal, creative, and physical development consistent with each child's potential.

Faculty members are committed to establishing teaching styles which allow students to become critical thinkers who possess self-confidence and personal integrity. We believe in communicating standards of performance and behavior so that children can become reliable citizens who take responsibility for their own actions. We encourage them to find strength in diversity, appreciate differences of opinion, and recognize the necessity for mutual respect among all individuals.

By developing a willingness in each child to take appropriate risks in such a supportive learning environment, we inspire in our students a genuine love of learning.
