The New School is an independent school and Cincinnati’s oldest full-day Montessori center for children aged 3 to 12. Accreditation by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States and the American Montessori Society marks The New School as a leader in Montessori education in the Cincinnati area. Our unique programs interweave an age appropriate, developmentally based Montessori curriculum for nearly 150 children in a homelike environment. High academic achievement and student growth is a top priority in sustaining our racially and culturally diverse population.
Our campus maintains two buildings on two acres with woods. The main building, the historic Mitchell Mansion, houses the preprimary and lower elementary programs as well as our whole foods based lunch program. A second building, the former St. Thomas Aquinas Church, houses the upper elementary program.
We view our work as a partnership between teachers, parents and children. It is our belief that the interactions we share and the information we teach will directly impact the society in which we live. Low student/teacher ratios aid in the development of the whole child.
