Roots to Routes: A Call Forward is a national gathering of nearly 400 educators and 250 students and more than 100 schools from across the country — including high school students who join as partners in shaping the future of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in education. Founded and directed by Dr. Rodney Glasgow of The Glasgow Group, the conference offers three dynamic days of learning, reflection, and renewal for those doing the deep work of building inclusive communities. Roots to Routes features over 35 interactive workshops, three inspiring keynotes, and an immersive environment that nurtures both personal growth and institutional transformation. Keynote speakers include A’Lelia Bundles, author and great-great-granddaughter of the legendary entrepreneur Madam C.J. Walker.
Through general sessions, intergenerational dialogue, and wellness spaces offering executive coaching, movement, and mindfulness, participants explore how we lead, teach, and live in alignment with our core values. Conversations center on identity, belonging, restorative leadership, and the routes forward for schools and communities in a rapidly changing world.
More than a conference, Roots to Routes is a call to reconnect with purpose — to move from reflection to action, and from division to community.
Registration Details: https://www.theglasgowgroup.org/register-for-roots-to-routes.html Cost: $785 for educators and administrators; $875 for students Web link: https://www.theglasgowgroup.org/roots-to-routes-a-call-forward.html Misc but important information: Pre-conference opportunities available on January 26 - https://www.theglasgowgroup.org/pre-conference-for-roots-to-routes-a-call-forward.html

11th ANNUAL DIVERSITY conference Constellation of Us: RISE, RESIST, REACH FOR THE STARS On Saturday, January 31, 2026, SCH Academy will welcome more than 200 high school and mature eighth-grade students from dozens of schools across the Philadelphia region for our annual SCHout Diversity Conference. Now in its 11th year, this student-led experience continues to grow and inspire, building on more than a decade of youth leadership and community building.
Throughout the day, attendees will hear keynote reflections, participate in a story exchange designed to cultivate radical empathy, and engage in dynamic social action workshops led by our 45 student facilitators. These facilitators have been hard at work since October, collaborating to design an experience that challenges, affirms, and inspires every participant to leave ready to create ripples of change in their own schools and communities.
As we celebrate the 11th anniversary of SCHout, we honor the alumni, faculty, and community partners who have nurtured this conference since its creation in 2015, and we look forward to another day of dialogue, growth, and action.
