Independent schools have long wrestled with identifying and recruiting diverse faculty. Some schools have had success but the overwhelming majority continue struggle and are unaware of why. Over the years, many have offered their opinion and speculation as to the root causes but very little research has been conducted to specifically examine the issue.

This workshop changes that and will reveal why some schools are more successful than others. This workshop is informed by 3 years of research, specifically focused on diversity recruitment in independent schools. Its content is informed by over 150 returned surveys exploring the practice, policies and people involved in faculty recruitment. It explores the 6 keys areas of successful diversity recruitment and reveals what is required for change. Participants will be invited, in real time, to take the survey to assess the strengths and weaknesses of their schools diversity recruitment program.
