Job Description/Responsibilities:
Trinity Episcopal School seeks a highly qualified literacy and homeroom teacher. Trinity Episcopal School is an inclusive, forward-thinking, faith-based K-8 independent school that meets each student where they are to nurture the whole child’s academic, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. Trinity is located in West Lake Hills, close to downtown Austin, Texas. Overview of position: A Lower School lead teacher is responsible for management of the homeroom classroom, as well as collaboratively teaching within a semi-departmentalized team structure. We have high expectations for our students and are looking for teachers to join our team who have: a strong, comprehensive knowledge base in the areas of literacy instruction; a love for children in all of their developmental stages; a desire to ensure students are engaged and learning at high levels; and experience differentiating instruction to meet a wide variety of capabilities. Responsibilities Responsibilities include curriculum planning, implementing instruction across reading and writing content areas, and executing effective classroom management strategies. The lead teacher is responsible for not only academic growth but also social and interpersonal growth. The lead teacher is expected to communicate with parents throughout the year through regular correspondence, conferences, and report cards. He/She will work closely with grade-level team members, specialists, administrators, and other colleagues to ensure all students make academic and social progress in accordance with our school’s mission and core values. Minimum Degree: BA
Certification Required: Yes
Minimum Experience: 3-5 Years

 
Qualifications:
Qualifications Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited school, a teaching certification (or relevant graduate degree) for the applicable grade level, superior teaching skills, excellent character, and a proven legacy of outstanding classroom performance. Experience running a Reading Workshop and Writing Workshop consistent with the philosophies of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project is preferred. Excellent writing skills and strong verbal communication skills are expected. Ability to be an innovative, collaborative, and positive member of the faculty is required. Two year’s full time teaching experience, preferred.
