Job Description/Responsibilities:


The K-8 Health and Physical Education teacher will be responsible for providing a student-centered, supportive approach in Health and Physical Education instruction for students in grades K-8.



        Provides direct instruction to students in Health and Physical Education. 

        Plans and executes lessons while maintaining a safe, secure environment.

        Develops an ongoing working knowledge of each individual student’s educational and emotional needs.

        Effectively collaborates with learning specialists to integrate recommended teaching strategies.

        Communicates with families and establishes a collaborative relationship between school and home to promote physical and emotional wellbeing for students.

        Provides individual student assessment as needed.

        Shows evidence of adaptive and differentiated instruction for all students.

        Maintains complete and accurate records that are reflective of a student’s performance and growth. 

        Develops and maintains genuine, positive, and consistent communication with parents.

        Contributes to and collaborates with the campus community.

        Practices professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection, and continuous improvement.

        Participates in curriculum writing and other developmental programs and activities.

        Remains current in knowledge evidence-based instruction in health, physical education, and learning disabilities.

        Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Degree: BS
Certification Required: Yes
Minimum Experience: 1-3 Years




  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Education or related field is required for consideration.
  • A K-12 Health and Physical Education Teaching Certification
  • A plus:
    • Special Education Teaching Certification
    • Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD
    • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
    • Responsive Classroom Experience
    • The ideal candidate is outgoing, well organized, competent in basic computer skills, and is an individual who is eager to work in a highly dynamic, energetic school setting.
