Job Description/Responsibilities:

Holy Ghost Prep, an all-boys, college preparatory school in Bensalem, PA for grades 9th through 12th, seeks a full-time English teacher to begin August 15, 2025. This full-time position involves teaching students at all levels of English. Teachers are required to teach five classes in a collaborative environment with highly motivated students and an experienced faculty. In addition, a faculty member is expected to assume community responsibilities.


Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Understanding and flexibility to connect with the adolescent male learner
  • Ability to confer with parents and students in a cooperative effort to understand and encourage progress
  • Demonstrate a genuine interest, understanding and care for students personal and academic success.

  • Highest level of ethical and professional behavior and standards, acting as a role model for students

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of a broad base of reading skills, writing skills, and literature content
  • Implement a standard aligned, academic program which includes accommodations, assignments, and assessments
  • Assume responsibility for the academic progress of students and actively work to ensure all students meet or exceed expectations on academic measures up to and including standardized tests
  • Provide an engaging learning environment using a solid understanding of strategies to teach, assess, and promote effective upper level critical thinking/analytical skills to adolescent male learners
  • Create and maintain a strong classroom culture with effective management skills, communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
  • Collaborate with co-workers to ensure curricular coherences, discuss student work, share teaching strategies and design opportunities for community building through incentives and enjoyment
  • Communicate with school administration and leadership on all relevant matters as directed.

Minimum Degree: BA
Certification Required: No
Minimum Experience: 1-3 Years

 
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • PA Teacher Certification and/or prior secondary school teaching experience desirable
  • Two years relevant work experience preferred
