Kingswood Oxford is seeking a full-time Middle School Dramatic Arts teacher who is passionate, innovative, and collaborative – an educator who models a growth mindset and is committed to equity-focused pedagogy. In addition to having a strong educational background and teaching experience in acting/theater, debate, and public speaking, successful candidates will be technologically savvy, have experience with curriculum design, and model best teaching practices.

Curricularly, successful candidates should have a background in teaching Public Speaking and Acting. Successful candidates will integrate real-world applications, student choice, and community/industry connections to enhance their curriculum’s relevance and impact. Experiences or expertise in musical theater, drama, public speaking and debate are also important. Successful candidates must be comfortable teaching all students in the middle school and have experience writing, editing and preparing formal speeches.
The position involves multiple parts:
Teach Introduction to Theater to all 6th graders
Teach Public Speaking to all 7th graders
Teach Advanced Public Speaking Elective to 8th graders
Teach Acting Elective to 8th graders
Direct 8th-grade fall play
Steward the 8th-grade Speech program
Direct, guide, and coordinate the all-Middle School Musical
