Founded in 1785, The Episcopal Academy is an independent college preparatory school for more than 1,200 boys and girls from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade in Lower, Middle, and Upper School in Newtown Square, PA. The school was founded by the Right Reverend William White, first Episcopal Bishop of Pennsylvania. Among its charter trustees were leading citizens of Philadelphia and signers of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. A nonprofit organization, the Academy is affiliated with the Episcopal Diocese of Philadelphia and governed by a 32member self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. Many of the schools 3900 living alumni belong to the Alumni Society, and parents assist in fund-raising and other service activities. The Episcopal Academy is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Pennsylvania Association of Private Academic Schools.

Chapel
