History

The Langley School first opened its doors as a cooperative nursery school in 1942. Langley’s first class was made up of just 19 children; today the school enrolls more than 500 students in preschool through eighth grade.

Athletics

Langley is a founding member of the Capital Athletic Conference and offers competitive team sports at the varsity and junior varsity levels in soccer, cross country, basketball, lacrosse, baseball, and softball for students in grades 5-8. Students may also participate in an annual track and field meet.

Facilities

The Langley School is located on a 9.2-acre campus in McLean, VA. The school's facilities include an artificial turf athletic field, an arts center featuring a multi-purpose auditorium, a 20,000-volume library, science and computer labs, a creative media studio featuring green screen technology, and a 23,350-square-foot athletic center with two gyms. Two playgrounds, a tricycle track, a wooded nature area, and the turf field offer students plenty of space for outdoor fun and learning.
