The School
Founded in 1950, Greenhill School is the leading independent, co-educational day school in the greater Dallas area serving 1257students in grades Pre-K through 12. Greenhill School provides arigorous college-preparatory curriculum that involves the integration of academic, artistic, athletic and social service in a positive and open atmosphere. Greenhill students and faculty commit to work together for excellence in the unique quality of life at Greenhill to prepare students to thrive in a changing world.
The Student Body
The Lower School (Pre-k - 4) population is 442 students, 232 girls and 210 boys. The Middle School (grades 5 - 8) population is 375 students, 193 girls and 182 boys. The Upper School (grades 9 – 12) population is 438 students, 225 girls and 213 boys.
Admission is competitive and on average Greenhill acceptsapproximately 25% of all applicants and admits 25-30 newstudents in the Upper School each year. We currently enroll students from 100 different zip codes through the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex and have a student population consisting of 33% of students of color.
Greenhill is committed to being accessible to qualified familiesregardless of their economic situation and awards over $3.7 million of financial aid during the 2009-10 school year.
The Faculty
The school’s full-time teaching faculty is made up of 123 men and women, with an average teaching experience of 17 years, who have been educated throughout the United States and the world. Of this group, 59 have earned Master’s Degrees and 8 hold Ph.D. degrees. Greenhill makes significant contributions to the continuing education of its administrators, faculty and staff.
