Employer Description

Saint Mary's School is an independent, Episcopal, college-preparatory, boarding and day school for girls in grades 9-12.  Established in 1842 in the Episcopal tradition, Saint Mary's historic, residential, 23-acre campus is located in downtown Raleigh and within easy driving distance of world-renowned Research Triangle Park and the Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

Dedicated to academic excellence and personal achievement, Saint Mary's School looks at life academically, socially and spiritually.  With a demanding, integrated, and hands-on, academic program, Saint Mary's faculty and staff work with students to build a strong academic and personal foundation, guided by the habits of a lifelong learner including critical thinking, communication, and character.  Saint Mary's School offers 16 Advanced Placement courses and a full complement of honors courses, competition in 11 sports, a comprehensive fine arts program, one-on-one academic advising program, leadership curriculum, and co-curricular programs to prepare students for independence and success in college and life.

The student body is comprised of girls from 11 states and seven foreign countries: China, Korea, Nigeria, Poland, the United Kingdom, Venezuela, and Vietnam.  The student/faculty ratio is 8:1 and the average class size is 12.5 students.  The average teaching experience for Saint Mary's faculty is 15 years with 83% of the faculty holding advanced degrees in their field.  More than 30 faculty and staff live on campus with their families, making for a vibrant 24/7 learning and living community.

Saint Mary's School wants each girl to find her courage - to be herself, to expand her horizons and to open her heart and mind to new ideas and experiences. The school seeks faculty and staff members who are able to bring the mission of the school to life in their work with girls, who are passionate about girls' education and able to support girls in their growth as young women of intellect, integrity, and purpose.
