TheUniversity of Denver is a private university with about 12,000 students locatedin a thriving metropolis at the base of the Rocky Mountains. The Department ofPhysics and Astronomy underwent a strong expansion with eight tenure-track andone teaching professor positions filled in the last nine years. We offer research programs inastrophysics, biophysics and condensed matter physics. Our diverse and dynamic faculty of 11includes 3 women and come from 7 different countries. We provide an attentive, hands-on researchand learning community for undergraduate and graduate students up through thePhD level. The program is recognized by the APS among US PhD-grantingdepartments for our high percentage (50%) of female graduates: placing secondnationally at the undergraduate level and third at the graduate level (APS datafor the period 2011-2013).
