Bryn Mawr School is a girls' day school, located on a 26-acre, wooded campus within the city limits. Founded by five pioneering young women who believed in a challenging college preparatory education, Bryn Mawr School enrolls 803 girls in k-12. In addition, the coeducational Little School enrolls 137 children. An innovative curriculum incorporates hands-on activities, field trips, and outdoor education at each grade level. Drama, art, physical education, music, values education, computer studies, and community service are fully integrated throughout the school. These areas are complemented in the upper school through expanded course offerings in coordinate classes with Gilman School for boys and Roland Park Country School for girls. French begins in kindergarten and computers in Preschool. Activities include 47 teams in 15 sports, Dance Company, choral groups, instrumental ensembles, a newspaper, a literary magazine, and a wide assortment of clubs.
