School Mission
Our mission is to create an integrated and rigorous academic and preparatory learning environment that provides students with a foundation of the necessary skills, knowledge, and practical experience to pursue a path leading to college and/or a career in the architecture, engineering and construction industries. New York City Charter High School for Architecture, Engineering and Construction Industries (AECI) emphasizes science and math proficiency, effective communication skills, and critical thinking skills through a program of academic excellence, which includes student-engaged and project-based learning, apprenticeships, and mentorship. Our students will learn the importance of supporting their community by applying what they have learned to address the needs that exist within our community.
School Profile
The NYC Charter High School for AECI is a comprehensive four year public high school that opened in the fall of 2008 and graduated its first senior class in the spring of 2012. The student body at AECI is culturally diverse with a population that is 64% Hispanic and 37% African American. 17% of our students are English Language Learners and 18% of our students are categorized as student with special needs. Our school currently has a 92% attendance rate and AECI is authorized by the NYC DOE.
