Our Mission Statement
Saint Peter’s Prep is a Catholic, Jesuit college preparatory school, which seeks to form young men of competence, conscience and compassion. Both enriched and challenged by its diversity, Prep is a community of learners seeking to find God in all things. The academic, athletic, co-curricular, spiritual and service programs aim to foster in students an understanding of the world and the courage to advance the common good.
Our Jesuit Heritage
As a Jesuit school, Saint Peter's Prep is immersed in the 450 year-old vision of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, whose Spiritual Exercises affirm the ultimate goodness of the world as created, loved and redeemed by God. From the foundation of the first Jesuit school at Messina, Italy, the Society of Jesus has focused the goal of education on developing the whole person. The purpose of a Jesuit education, in contemporary language, is to develop leaders who are intellectually competent, open to growth, religious, loving and committed to doing justice.
As one of the member-schools of the Jesuit Schools Network (JSN), Saint Peter's Prep shares its Ignatian heritage with a diverse family of schools that stretches from Atlantic to Pacific, numbering more than 40,000 young men and women. Approximately 99% of all Jesuit high school graduates go on to pursue collegiate studies in some of the best colleges and universities in the United States and the world. Our affiliation with the JSN provides us with precious resources for identity formation, leadership development, and faith/justice commitment. Growing more firmly rooted in the Jesuit network is a constitutive part of our strategic planning and Middle States accreditation.
