Project Ember is looking for ambitious educators, artists, engineers - empaths and creatives of all kinds - to join our team of Summer Collaborators at our Menlo Park Day Camp. Come spend your summer teaching kids to use power tools, saying yes to wild and imaginative designs, and creating a community where campers feel seen, heard, and valued.
At Project Ember, there are no blueprints to follow; each session has a theme, but you and your kids will work together to design your own project. Kids (and collaborators!) are challenged to take big creative risks without guaranteed success and to work together to accomplish something bigger than any of us could imagine doing on our own. (And we're not talking desk-sized models - our kids have built 28' tall dinosaurs with deployable wings, a human-sized hamster wheel, and all manner of interactive contraptions.) Check out our video to see the kids in action and hear them reflect on how camp is about more than just making.
We're still looking for talented folks* to join our 2020 summer team full-time. Experience with power-tools is helpful, but our weeklong staff training will cover our teaching methods in depth. Training begins June 15th and programs run through August 13th; pay commensurate with experience. Complete information is available on our webpage. Won’t you join us?
