LCA is an independent college preparatory school that exists to educate young men and women in the arts and sciences in the context of a complete commitment to the historic Christian faith. The LCA community includes 350 middle and upper school students from over 80 communities and over 150 different churches. Over 25% are ethnic minorities. The 34 faculty members, over half of whom have advanced degrees, go beyond developing the intellect of students to building lasting moral strength and character.
LCA offers a range of honors and Advanced Placement courses. Creative curricula and programs enhance the academic program. All students participate in a one-week Interim, where classes are replaced by a novel immersion curriculum, ranging from the study of marine biology to movie production. Each May, the interdepartmental Arts Fest is a soul-stirring celebration of study in Drama, Music, Visual Arts, and English. At the Veritas Forum, students are challenged by visiting Christian scholars to ask their hardest questions in order to explore the relevance of the truth of Jesus Christ to all aspects of life. Over twenty different clubs, Eastern Independent League competitive athletics and various community service activities allow students to pursue their interests and build community.
