The Experiment in International Living provides summer abroad programs for high school students who want to connect deeply and engage meaningfully with the richness and complexities of another country. The Experiment has been offering immersive experiential learning programs abroad since 1932 and today offers 2- to 6-week programs in more than 25 countries around the world. After 85 years and more than 70,000 participants, The Experiment remains a leader in the field of international cross-cultural education for high school students.
The Experiment in International Living is the founding program of World Learning, a nonprofit that advances leadership through education, exchange, and development programs in more than 60 countries. World Learning works globally to enhance the capacity and commitment of individuals, institutions, and communities to create a more peaceful and just world through education, sustainable development, and exchange. World Learning Youth Programs create powerful, life changing experiences that empower today’s youth to understand how the world works; to meet passionate peers from other countries and cultures; and to develop the knowledge, skills and motivation to take action on vital global issues in their own communities. Our dynamic, experiential curriculum focuses on leadership, global issues, peacebuilding, civic engagement, activism, and volunteerism. Over the last 25 years, World Learning Youth Programs have trained over 7,000 youth ages 15 to 24 from more than 80 countries.
