Seattle Girls' School
Our Mission is to inspire and develop courageous leaders who think independently, work collaboratively, learn joyfully, and champion change.

Seattle Girls' School is a small, independent middle school in Seattle's Central District neighborhood. Founded in 2000 by a group of parents and educators who were disturbed by trends of girls turning away from the study of math, science, and technology in their adolescent years, SGS continues to play a unique role in the Seattle community, working to ensure that young women and gender nonconforming youth, regardless of their family's economic status, have an opportunity for an exceptional education. .
At Seattle Girls’ School, we use an experiential, joy-filled, inquiry-based approach. We integrate curriculum so that it is project-based, inquiry-based and hands-on. We seek educators who are collaborative, flexible, and love learning and doing alongside middle school girls and gender nonconforming students. Teachers work collaboratively to write original curriculum (no textbooks here!) and integrate anti-bias work into everything they do.
