Statement of CommunityHFS understands learning communities as microcosms of our larger society. Students graduate from HFS with strong reflective skills, the capacity for active empathy, a deep understanding of conflict resolution, and the ability to engage in complex problem solving. The social organization of the school serves as the foundation of this learning: HFS strives to achieve a balance between the needs of individuals and our community in an atmosphere of cooperation and concern for the betterment of all.
Diversity Statement
In true Quaker spirit, HFS is committed to genuine diversity, equity, social justice and activism. Our learning community explores, celebrates, and encourages differences and commonalities, as well as the challenges and opportunities that they present. We understand these efforts as integral to the personal and intellectual growth of each member of our school, as well as to the overall wellbeing of our community and the wider world.
