St. John School is located in Greenwood, just north of downtown Seattle. It is one of 74 schools that comprise the Archdiocese of Seattle Catholic Schools. The school opened in 1923. It serves 530 students from the surrounding area in grades pre-k through grade eight with two classes per grade level. St. John School employs 38 teachers, including music, art, physical education, and Spanish specialists. a school counselor, and the Student Support Team consisting of three resource specialists in math, reading, and English Language Arts. Teachers in the preschool-grade 3 have support aides in the classrooms. The principal, assistant principal, Director of Development and Admissions, along with administrative assistants and the school secretary comprise the front office staff.
