Employer Description

Mayfield Senior School is a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for young women grades 9-12 with an enrollment of 330 students.  Located in beautiful Pasadena, California, the school is sponsored by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus and guided by the educational philosophy of the Society’s founder, Cornelia Connelly.

Grounded in the Seven Goals of Holy Child education, Mayfield seeks faculty and staff members who will help build a joyful educational community.   We expect teachers to embrace our Holy Child mission, which encourages students to strive for excellence, find their passions, and develop the courage and confidence that comes from the understanding that their lives have meaning and purpose.

Mayfield Senior School of the Holy Child Jesus is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, gender, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or any other status protected by federal, state or local law in the administration of its employment practices. As a Catholic School, Mayfield reserves the right to consider religion as a factor in the hiring process as permitted by law.

Diversity Mission Statement

Our cherished Holy Child Goal Five requires us to “create a learning climate based on trust and reverence for the dignity and uniqueness of each person.” Throughout Mayfield’s curriculum, student leadership programs, and service initiatives is the commitment to explore questions of justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion in the context of Catholic Social Justice teaching.

Compelled by Holy Child Goal Four “to work for Christian principles of justice, peace, and compassion in every facet of life,” and inspired by the words of Pope Francis that, as Catholics, “we cannot tolerate or turn a blind eye to racism and exclusion in any form,” Mayfield Senior School community members embrace their responsibility to work as anti-racists for positive social change through “Actions Not Words.”
