Founded in 2013 as a preschool serving 13 children, Adam J. Lewis Academy is an independent day school in Bridgeport, CT. Through evidence-based instruction, increased instructional time, and linking school and home, AJLA provides educational opportunities to children of promise, regardless of their economic access. Now serving 150 students, PreK through fourth grade, AJLA will grow to include PreK through 8th grade by adding a grade each year with the goal of placing graduates into area independent, parochial, and high-performing charter and magnet schools. The school operates on a sliding-scale tuition model with the average tuition ranging from $10 to $40 per week. Roughly 85% of our operating budget is funded through individual donors, family trusts, and foundations.
