Core Values
We believe that:
-All people have inherent value.
-Lifelong learning is essential for growth.
-A community thrives when all members embrace their interdependence with compassion and empathy.
-Potential can only be attained through commitment, resilience, and high expectations.
-All people can learn.
-Change is essential for progress.
-All people are responsible for their choices and actions.
The District has embarked on two significant initiatives in the areas of grading and equity. These two areas were identified as critical based on their alignment with our Mission and Core Values and their high leverage potential in support of our students’ academic and social-emotional wellbeing. ACSD has an active District Equity Team composed of students, teachers, parents and administrators. Each building has a building-level Equity Team and many schools also have a Student Equity Team. In order to help bring the Mission and Core Values to life, the District is committed to hiring a diverse staff that is representative of our diverse student population. The District understands that representation in the classroom matters and diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
