Employer Description

The Grayson School is an innovative, research-based learning institution that is guided by best practices in the field of gifted education, and the only "all gifted-all day" school of its kind within a 125-mile radius. We offer grades Pre-K through 12 plus enrichment classes and summer programs open to the community. Our vision is to provide high-ability learners with a setting where they can learn at a pace consistence with their abilities, collaborate with like-minded peers, and explore their unlimited potential, while also growing and thriving socially and emotionally. The Grayson school was recognized in 2016 as a Philadelphia Stellar StartUp, and its Founder, Melissa Bilash, was also honored with the 2016 Innovator Award by the Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education (PAGE). The Grayson School is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.

Diversity Mission Statement

The Grayson School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, age, or other non-merit factor to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school, nor in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, financial aid policies, athletic and other school-administered programs, or employment practices. The Grayson School is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are fully committed to creating an inclusive community at our school. Maintaining a diverse community across dimensions is a priority, and we believe that justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) are essential aspects of providing an optional education for our gifted students. Our school utilizes research-based curriculum and pedagogical strategies to integrate these tenets into the foundation of the programming of our school. We recognize that exceptional ability knows no boundaries, yet that inequitable access to resources may prevent gifted students who are disadvantaged from reaching their potential. Providing adequate and appropriate resources, and identifying and meeting the needs of all of our students is central to our mission.
