The Mamaroneck School District is a suburban district that strives to fulfill its mission based on principles of equity. As a district, the population is reflective of both ethnic and economic diversity, and has sustained continued growth ( about 16% in the past ten years) to a total enrollment of approximately 5,300. The District consists of four neighborhood elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Our students come from the Village of Larchmont, the Village of Mamaroneck and the Town of Mamaroneck. The current demographics of our student population are: 2% Black/African American, 22% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 68% White, 4% Multiracial.
As a system, we strive to hire educators who are aligned in our belief around creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment. It remains the obligation of the school district to uphold the tenets of safety, inclusion, acceptance, dignity, and belonging, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual identity or orientation, ability or disability, country of origin, or other identifying category or characteristics.
The Mamaroneck Union Free School District seeks equity-minded employees who commit to a collaborative experience aimed at developing the individual and organizational knowledge, attitudes, skills, and practices to create culturally responsive learning and working environments. The fostering and maintaining of these beliefs supports high expectations, which are rooted in an ethic of care, for all students and employees - where differences will not just be seen as strengths, but will be nourished, celebrated, and welcomed because they are what make students and families unique.
