Employer Description

About The Care Center:

The Care Center is an innovative alternative educational program in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Since 1986 we have served young mothers, low-income women, and their children. Our mission is to provide opportunities for young mothers who have been unable to remain in school to acquire the education, resources and skills for life-long growth, wellness, and economic stability.

We offer three integrated programs aimed at increasing the number of young mothers completing college. Our award-winning high school-level program prepares young mothers for college. Our highly supportive part-time college courses provide continuous opportunities for women to begin or resume college. Our in-house associate degree program provides a supportive environment for young mothers and low-income women to earn college degrees.

Like the best college preparatory schools in the country, we incorporate small class sizes, lively academics, athletics, and a commitment to success. While students read Plato, create artwork, write poetry, and row on the Connecticut River, supports such as transportation, daycare, counseling, meals, and a nurse practitioner allow them to concentrate on their studies.
