Job Description/Responsibilities:
Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Princeton, New Jersey, an independent, Catholic, diverse all-girls preschool to 12th grade Sacred Heart School with a mission to educate the whole child and inspire young women to lead lives of exceptional leadership and service, is searching for a Director of Athletics to begin on July 1st, 2025.
The Director of Athletics oversees the school’s athletic programming and facility rentals. This position reports to the Assistant Head of School For Academic Leadership and serves on the Associate Leadership Team. The position supervises an Associate Director of Athletics, the athletic trainer, and athletic team coaches. Stuart is searching for a visionary leader and culture builder who has shown success in building successful athletic programming that allows students to grow as athletes, leaders, and people. The ideal candidate is collaborative, joyful, and forward-thinking. The position also serves as a member of Stuart’s Health and Wellness Team which develops schoolwide programming supporting the students' physical and mental well-being.
Qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Education Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred) -Previous experience in coaching and/or athletic administration, preferably in a K-12 school environment -Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire coaches, staff, and student-athletes -Knowledge of athletic program development, scheduling, and regulatory compliance. -Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities -Commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and supportive athletic environment
Working Conditions: -Full-time year-round position with evening and weekend hours required for athletic events and activities -Physical ability to participate in outdoor activities and events as needed -Travel may be required for conferences, tournaments, or recruitment purposes
